RECENT TESTIMONIALS

I just played a wonderful event for a great organization that does great work for many kids – here’s a note from Kidsability:

In October of 2012, KidsAbility held the Secret Garden High Tea Social at the Arboretum with the goal of introducing Guelph Wellington to our organization. With this in mind, it was essential to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience. Norman not only created an elegant atmosphere for our guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour, but he also played elegantly during our tea service and in between speeches. Norman was on time, set up quickly, and needed no instruction at all which I really appreciated as our guests arrived. Norman is truly gifted and without a doubt created the atmosphere we were looking for. On behalf of KidsAbility, we thank Norman, and highly recommend his musical talents.

The mood that you created for us at our wedding ceremony and reception was one that we and our guests will never forget. Your music was perfect and always the right volume and tempo. Your song selection, professionalism and timing were truly exceptional! You truly helped make our wedding day even more special than we could have hoped for.  Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Norman Liota’s intricate guitar work and wide classical and contemporary repertoire, including his own compositions, lent the prefect backdrop to our son’s Victorian-themed wedding at Casa Loma.  As they mingled in their bustles, feathers and tailcoats,  guests felt as if they truly were being entertained in a regal court, by the queen’s favoured musician.  Victoria would certainly have been amused and impressed – we most definitely were!

We would like to express our thanks to Norman for his contribution to our wedding day… Several musicians were considered but once we heard Norman play, we immediately sensed that he was the right fit for our special day.   His intimate style and choice of music perfectly balanced with our expectations, with many compliments received by our guests regarding his playing and music choices.      Norman is a magnificent musician with an intuitive sense for matching his music with the needs of his clients.    We would highly recommend Norman for any event or special day.

Dear Norman,

Thank you very much for your time and excellent musical entertainment
at my husband’s 50th birthday celebration. The evening would not have
been complete without your wonderful music before and during our dinner.
We especially appreciated the great variety of musical genres you
played – including classical tunes, modern pop songs but also cultural
unique music and many more. Thank you for being flexible with some of
our wishes during our slide show presentation. You were able to pick
the perfect songs to match the stories we were telling – a rare
talent! Not just the music made it a worry-free and entertaining
evening but also that you brought everything for set up and all of
your equipment. It just allowed us to focus on the celebrations. Many
of our guests spoke highly of your skills and approached us later to
tell us how much they enjoyed your playing.

We are happy to be a reference for you for future events and hope to
stay in contact.

Thank you and all the best,
Gertrud Hocke (party at The Elm Hurst Inn)

Re: Norman Liota performing at Canadian Greenhouse Conference (CGC) October 3 & 4, 2007

To Whom It May Concern,

Norman Liota was hired to provide live entertainment at the CGC held in Toronto at the International Centre. After 28 years with a reputation as a conservative tradeshow, the attendance was declining, and attendees were asking for something different. The 2007 conference was designed to rebrand ourselves as a must attend event. Norman contributed significantly to creating a new exciting and positive atmosphere. He played his exquisite background music for approximately 40 minutes of every hour, and during the opening night reception his music took a more central part, when his performance became more upbeat with vocals.

Norman was hired for his ample skills as a guitarist and vocalist. Indeed it was decided to go with a guitarist of Norman’s calibre, as opposed to a pianist, because it was felt that guitar played at the level of Norman’s proficiency would help distinguish the conference more than the standard lounge piano act. That turned out to be the right decision – his contribution to the conference was invaluable.

His repertoire is extensive and his talent exceptional, so his sets were always flowing with smooth but interesting turns throughout the entire exhibit hall to the obvious delight of the many exhibitors and attendees. I heard nothing but extremely enthusiastic response during the conference and afterwards. One thing that particularly impressed me was how, over two days, his music never became a banal background wash; there was always something to sustain interest and to enchant the diverse crowd. A very charmed atmosphere was created by his judicious choice of music.

The feeling amongst the organizing committee was unanimous that this personable and professional performer was a pleasure to work with. I whole heartedly recommend the man and his music for any event.

To Whom It May Concern:

It has been my pleasure to have established a working relationship with Norm Liota over the past eight months. Norm was hired to provide musical entertainment for the lounge portion of the Steakhouse. The music also filters thorough to the dining room to help enhance the dining experience.

As soon as you hear Norm play, it becomes obvious that he is a accomplished musician. He has a vast repertoire and is adept at read a crowd and adjusts his play list accordingly. I have received nothing but compliment about Norm and his music and find that he had become a integral part of creating the ambiance in the restaurant.

If they type of music on Norm’s play list is the kind of music you are looking for, I would highly recommend Norm – a great musician and a gentleman.
